BORN HULL 1871. SON OF JOHN AND SARAH ANN TEMPLE, OF 3, COLLEGE ROW, GREEN LANE, HULL (1911 CENSUS). HE WAS A HULL CORPORATION LABOURER, FOR THE ENGINEERS DEPARTMENT.
HIS WIFE, SUSAN TEMPLE, & FIVE CHILDREN. LIVED AT 3, REFORM STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE MARRIED AT HULL IN 1892.
ENLISTED HULL. SERVED WITH THE 2ND EAST RIDING, ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. HE RECEIVED THE TERRITORIAL FORCE EFFICIENCY MEDAL. DIED OF CANCER, 16/05/1919, AGED 47. BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.
HIS SON, JOHN TEMPLE (19), DROWNED ON THE ‘AMBER’, WHICH STRUCK A MINE AFTER THE WAR, ON 01/01/1920.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, HERBERT TEMPLE, 11/623, 11TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/03/1918, AGED 46. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND THREE CHILDREN, AT 9, CORAL GROVE, GRANGE STREET, HULL.
