BORN HULL 1900. SON OF SUSAN & THE LATE ALFRED TEMPLE – 6 SARAH’S TERRACE, ROSAMOND STREET AND 3 REFORM STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). SERVED AS TRIMMER ON THE STEAM TRAWLER, ‘AMBER’. LOST AT SEA. AGED 19. HIS FATHER, GUNNER, ALFRED TEMPLE, SERVED WITH THE 2ND EAST RIDING ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY AND DIED SHORTLY AFTER THE WAR ENDED.
Built as the AMBER for Kingston Steam Trawlers, Hull; Registion No H598; Yard No 189; Launch Date: 05/03/1898; Officially given up as lost on 26/01/1920, after leaving the port of Hull, in heavy gales, on New Year’s Day. All 10 crew missing.
