SON OF A BUILDER & CONTRACTOR. HE HAD TWO ELDER BROTHERS, WALTER AND WILFRED.

HE WORKED AS A SEED TRADE CLERK AND LIVED AT 36, EAST PARL AVENUE, HULL (ARMY ADDRESS). DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6 INCHES TALL, 33-35 INCH CHEST, 106 LBS WEIGHT, SCAR ON HIS NECK.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 02/06/1916. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 205199, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO “D” COMPANY, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, ON 31/08/1918. TAKEN PRISONER, ON 28/05/1918. DIED IN DARMSTADT GERMAN HOSPITAL, ON 02/11/1918, AGED 20, BEFORE THE ARMISTICE WAS SIGNED.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL (HDM 10/02/1918).
HIS BROTHER, DRIVER, WALTER ANTHONY TEMPERTON, SERVED IN THE ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS.
