BORN HULL 1897. SECOND SON OF JOHN WILLIAM & SARAH JANE THOMAS, OF 3, VINE TERRACE, BARNSLEY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A DOCK LABOURER. HE HAD ONE OLDER BROTHER, JOHN AND THREE SISTERS. EMPLOYED AS A PACKER IN THE LOCAL PAINT WORKS.
HE ENLISTED AT HULL. SERVED AS LANCE BOMBARDIER, IN THE 186TH, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 06/01/1918, AGED 21.
BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, JOHN WILLIAM THOMAS, WHO ALTHOUGH AGED 49, ENLISTED ON 30/03/1915 AND SERVED IN THE 2ND/4TH EYR.
