Born Llanelly, Camarthenshire, Wales, 6th December 1877. Son of Thomas and Phoebe Thomas, of Berwick, Wales.
Married at Knaresborough, in 1915. Husband of Dorothy Jackson Thomas (Born 3 July 1890), at 12, Brock Street, Lancaster (CWGC address) and 52, Tower Street, Harrogate (Probate address).
He was a rugby Union and rugby League player. He won caps for Wales, Yorkshire and Great Britain. Joined Hull Kingston Rovers in 1911, playing 102 games, scroring 26 Tries and a total of 78 points.
Residing in Harrogate when war began, he enlisted at York. Served with the Yorkshire Hussars Yeomanry (Alexandra Princess of Wales Own.) Posted to France on 17 April 1915. Killed in action, on 25 May 1915, aged 31.
Commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium.
He left £45 in his will to his widow, Dorothy Thomas at 52, Tower Street, Harrogate (Probate Address), 17 April 1917.
