BORN WILLERBY, 1899. SON OF HENRY THOMPSON ( 1868-1933) & CHARLOTTE NEWLOVE (1868-1936). SON OF A HULL CORPORATION, GARDENER, AT THE WILLERBY ASYLUM. EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. EMPLOYED AS A CLERK FOR THE HULL & BARNSLEY RAILWAYS.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 11/04/1917, AS A PRIVATE. COMMISSIONED AS A SECOND LIEUTENANT, IN THE ROYAL AIR FORCE. KILLED ON 11/06/1918, AGED 19.

LISTED ON THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL MEMORIAL. HIS NAME IS ALSO RECORDED ON THE COTTINGHAM WW1 MEMORIAL.

HIS NAME IS INSCRIBED AS HARRY THOMPSON ON THE KIRKELLA WAR MEMORIAL AT ST ANDREWS’ CHURCH.
