BORN HULL 1885. SON OF THOMAS & CATHERINE THOMPSON, OF 2 ALBION PLACE, COLLIER STREET, HULL. A HULL SCHOOL TEACHER. HUSBAND OF ANNIE ELIZA THOMPSON & TWO CHILDREN, AT 15 WILSON’S BUILDINGS, SOUTH STREET, HULL. ALSO LIVED AT 1 WILLIAM’S PLACE, UPPER UNION STREET.
HE WAS THE FIRST 1ST EAST REGIMENT CASUALTY OF THE WAR. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 24/09/1914, AGED 29. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 26TH OCTOBER 1914. *
HE IS BURIED AT VENDRESSE BRITISH CEMETERY, AISNE, FRANCE.
HIS BROTHER FRANK THOMPSON, WAS SERVING IN THE ARMY, IN INDIA WHEN WAR BEGAN. HE FOUGHT AT THE DARDENELLES AND IN FRANCE FOR TWO YEARS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 01/09/1918, AGED 27. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 25/09/1918. *
