BORN HULL 20/09/1891. ONLY SON OF GEORGE EDWARD THRUSSELL (1848-1938) & MARIA JOBLING (1846-1922), OF 29, CHESTNUT AVENUE, QUEENS ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A JOINER. HE WAS A PRINTER AND LINOTYPE OPERATER, FOR THE LOCAL NEWSPAPER. HE HAD TWO SISTERS, BESSIE AND LILIAN.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EYR.
HIS PATROL OF FIVE MEN WERE SURPRISED BY THE ENEMY, ONE BEING KILLED AND TWO SEVERELY WOUNDED. SGT, W H BARCLAY, DCM, CRAWLED WITH EDWARD ON HIS BACK TO THEIR TRENCHES, BUT EDWARD DIED OF HIS WOUNDS AN HOUR LATER.
HE IS BURIED AT CITE BONJEAN MILITARY CEMETERY, ARMENTIERES, NORD, FRANCE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 2ND NOVEMBER 1915. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, LILIAN.
