BORN LITTLE WEETON YORKS, 1895. SON OF JOHN (1847-1934) AND ELLEN TOMLINSON (1860-1920), OF WALKINGTON, BEVERLEY. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS.
EMPLOYED AS A FARM LABOURER AT KIRKELLA GRANGE, HULL (1911 CENSUS). THEN WORKED FOR McILLWAINES OIL MILLS, AT STONEFERRY, HULL.
HE LATER RESIDED IN NORTH FERRIBY WITH HIS WIFE AND CHILD.
HE ENLISTED AT WARWICK. SERVED WITH THE 6TH WARWICKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 13/10/1916, AGED 21.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 25TH OCTOBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.*
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE NORTH FERRIBY WW1 MEMORIAL.
