HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 17454, YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1/7TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 11/04/1918, AGED 42. COMMEMORATED ON THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 10/7/1918 & HDM 10/04//1919.
