ENLISTED HULL. FORMERLY PRIVATE, 22449, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS LANCE CORPORAL, TO THE 2ND YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 02/04/1917. AGED 28. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, SARAH, AT 82, NEWSTEAD STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
HIS ELDER BROTHER, JOHN, SERVED IN THE NAVY AND WAS WOUNDED. ANOTHER BROTHER, BOMBARDIER, THOMAS LEO TRAYNOR, ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY, WAS DISABLED.
