BORN HULL 1885. MARRIED HULL 1911. WIFE LILLIAN UTTON – 8 LEONARD’S AVENUE, COURTNEY STREET. ENLISTED 4TH EYR – HULL 10.5.15, ONE WEEK BEFORE HIS DAUGHTER (WHO HE NEVER KNEW) WAS BORN. IN FEBRUARY 1917 HE WAS DRAFTED TO FRANCE WHERE HE JOINED THE 12TH EYR JUST BEFORE THE ATTACK ON OPPY WOOD. DURING THE ATTACK HE GOT INTO GERMAN FRONT LINE, WHERE HE WAS WOUNDED TWICE. HE WAS LEFT BEHIND DURING THE GERMAN COUNTER ATTACK & LATER REPORTED MISSING. THE SON OF NETTIE UTTON ABOVE ADDRESS. HIS REMAINS WERE FOUND IN MAY 1927 AND HE WAS INTERRED IN ORCHARD DUMP CEMETERY. BEFORE THE WAR HENRY UTTON WAS A WOOD TURNING MACHINIST.
