HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 15/12/1915. SERVED IN THE EAST RIDING ROYAL ENGINEERS. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 20TH SEPTEMBER 1917. TRANSFERRED TO THE 63RD FIELD COMPANY. WOUNDED WHILE SAVING AN OFFICER. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, THE SAME DAY, ON 18/04/1918, AGED 22. BURIED IN BELGIUM.
