SS Guido, built by Dunlop, Bremner & Co. Ltd., Port Glasgow in 1913 and owned at the time of her loss by T. Wilson, Sons & Co. Ltd., Hull, was a British steamer of 2093 tons. On July 8th, 1915, Guido, on a voyage from London & Hull to Archangelsk with general cargo, was sunk by the German submarine U-25 (Otto Wünsche), 27 miles NE1/4N from Rattray Head. The Guido was on her way from Archangel with general cargo, while the Anna was bound from Archangel to Hull with a consignment of timber. Provost Least, hon. local agent for wrecked Mariners’ Society, attended to the wants of the crew of the Guido, and Messrs Gray and Gray, solicitors, local Russian Consul, acted in a similar capacity with regard the Russian crew.
