BORN BURSTWICK, 1898. SON OF ADA SARAH LEVITT (1871-1916) AND FRED ESCREET WALKER (1871-1937). HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS AND SERVED AS PRIVATE, 1160, 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. HE TRANSFERRED TO THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. DIED OF GAS WOUNDS AND PNEUMONIA, AT BURSTWICK, ON 14/10/1919, AGED 21 AND IS BURIED THERE.
HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, GEORGE WALKER, 21941, 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED AT OPPY WOOD, ON 03/05/1917, AGED 21. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS AND BURSTWICK WAR MEMORIALS.
