Born Market Weighton, Yorkshire, 1891. Husband of Gertrude Walker, of 16, Woodbine Villas, Reynoldson Street, Hull (War pension address). They had two children, Annie Steel and Stanley.
He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 10th Yorkshire Regiment (Alexandra, Princes of Wales’ Own). Posted to France on 9th September 1915. Killed at Loos, on 26/09/1915, aged 25.
Commemorated on the Loos Memorial, France.
