Born Little Weighton, 1887. Son of William Ward (1842-1921) and Betsy Woodmancey (1842-1921), of Little Weighton. Worked as a Horseman, on a farm in Walkington, Beverley (1911 Census). H married Clara Starkey, at Beverley, in 1916.
He enlisted Beverley. Formerly 41531, Royal Inniskilling, Fusiliers. Transferred to the 1st Princess Victoria’s (Royal Irish Fusiliers). Killed in action, on 24/08/1918, aged 31. Buried in Belgium.
His army effects were left to his widow, Clara.
He is commemorated on the Rowley ww1 Memorial, Little Weighton, Hull with 15 men.
