Enlisted Peterborough. A Serving Soldier when war began. Served as Sergeant in the 5th Northamptonshire Regiment. Awarded the Military Medal (MM) for bravery. Died of wounds, on 30/07/1916, aged 27. Buried at Bouzincourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
Married at Northampton 1912. Husband of Gertrude Nellie Meeken at 37, Lister Street, Hull (war pension address). They had one daughter, Doris May born on 25 August 1914.
