BORN BEVERLEY, 1897. SON OF ROBERT WILLIAM WILLIAMSON (1859-1918) AND AGNES WILLIAMSON (1868-1944), OF BISHOP BURTON. A CHURCH LAD’S BRIGADE MEMBER IN BEVERLEY AND THE FIRST TO BE KILLED IN THE WAR. ENLISTED IN BEVERLEY IN 1914. SERVED WITH THE 5TH YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. SHOT THROUGH THE HEAD, BY A SNIPER, ON 05/07/1915, AGED 18. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER AGNES. HE LEFT FAMILY, CLIFFORD, LAURA AND FRANCES. HIS SISTER, FLORENCE HAD DIED IN 1913 AND ANOTHER SISTER IDA, DIED IN 1916.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 9TH JULY 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE BEVERLEY WAR MEMORIAL, MEMORIAL GARDENS.
