HE DIED WITH TWO OTHER SHIPMATES WHEN THE ‘COMMANDER FULERTON’, WAS STRANDED AT KILNSEA. THE SHIP WAS LATER SUNK BY THE GERMAN CRUISER, EMDEN ON 18/12/1917.
