HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS (TERRITORIALS). DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 28/03/1918, AGED 32. HE IS BURIED AT NAMPS-AU-VAL BRITISH CEMETERY, FRANCE.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER MARY JANE, BROTHERS, WALTER, JOHN, AND ERNEST, AND HIS MARRIED SISTERS, ADA GODSON, SARAH ANN WHIGG, ELIZABETH NEWMARSH, AMELIA GUEST, AND FANNY DRISCOL.
