HUSBAND OF ALICE (PERKINS) OF 144 LEE STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS) AND 28, MAY TREE AVENUE, GARDEN VILLAGE, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE LATER MOVED TO 11 BEECHVILLE AVENUE, DEAN ROAD SCARBOROUGH. THEIR SON, EDWIN AMOS, WAS BORN ON 6/9/1914.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 11/11/1916. HE WAS DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 7 INCHES TALL, 114 LBS WEIGHT, 34 INCH CHEST, DEFECTIVE MOLAR TOOTH, AN INJURY SCAR IN THE MIDDLE OF HIS BACK. HE ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 17/01/1917. SERVED WITH THE 10TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. WAS WOUNDED ON 22/08/1917. RETURNED TO HIS UNIT. KILLED AT PASSCHENDAELE, ON 14/10/1917, AGED 27. COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL, TO THE MISSING.
