BORN HUDDERSFIELD 1872. SON OF ELIZABETH JANE THOMPSON & THE LATE ROBERT WILSON, FROM HULL. ONE OF SEVEN CHILDREN. EDUCATED AT HULL’S TRINITY HOUSE SCHOOL. HE HAD JOINED THE ROYAL ENGINEERS IN 1897. EMIGRATED TO CANADA. HIS WIFE LIZ, LIVED IN HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA. HE ENLISTED IN THE CANADIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. DIED OF A HEART ATTACK. ON 22/01/1917, AGED 45. BURIED AT HALIFAX (FORT MASSEY) CEMETERY, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA
HIS TWO BROTHERS, FRANCIS CHARLES WILSON & JOHN WILSON, DIED AT SEA. FRANCIS WAS BOSUN ON THE “GITANO” WHICH WAS MINED ON 23/12/1918. HE DROWNED, AGED 37 AND WAS LOST WITH 13 HULL MEN AND 12 OTHERS. SEAMAN, JOHN WILLIAM WILSON, DIED ON THE OIL TANKER “GREGARIO” IN 1918. BOTH BROTHERS LIVED IN EAST HULL.
