BORN HULL 1890. YOUNGEST SON OF JAMES & MARY WINTERS, WHO LIVED AT, 60, ARUNDEL STREET AND 1, THE POPLARS, DURHAM STREET, HOLDERNESS ROAD, HULL. HE LIVED AT 18, MONTROSE STREET, HULL
BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED FOR THE HULL OIL MANUFACTURING COMPANY, STONEFERRY, HULL, AS AN OIL DRILLERS BOOK CLERK.
HE ENLISTED JUNE 1916. SERVED AS A GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 09/08/1917, AGED 27. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND ONE SON WHO RESIDED AT 18 MONTROSE STREET, HULL. HE IS BURIED AT KLEIN-VIERSTRAAT BRITISH CEMETERY, BELGIUM.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 29/8/1917, AND 01/09/1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
