BORN HULL 1892. THIRD SON OF JAMES STATHER WRIGHT (1849-1905( AND EMMA WOODS (1856-1918), OF  52 BRIDLINGTON STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 62, ALEXANDRA ROAD, HULL (war pension address). THIRD OF SEVEN CHILDREN. A BARBERS ASSISTANT. LIVING AT 62, ALEXANDRA ROAD, HULL.

HE ENLISTED HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 27153,  EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 9TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 17/05/1917, AGED 25,  AT NO: 24 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION. BURIED IN FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, EMMA. HIS PENSION WENT TO HIS SISTER ELSIE, AT 62 ALEXANDRA ROAD, HULL

HIS BROTHER, JAMES WRIGHT, 21709, 11TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 20/08/1916, AGED 27. BOTH BROTHERS ARE LISTED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL AT ST JOHNS CHURCH, NEWLAND, HULL.
