Born Cottingham, Hull, 1891. Only child of William Wallace Wright and Clara Wright, of “Spring Cottage”, 66, Pulman Street, Spring Bank West. Hull (War Pension address). He was a Slater and Concrete mixer by Trade. Described as 5 foot, 5 inches tall.
Enlisted in Hull, on 11/12/1915. Called up on 8/2/1916. Posted to France, on 23/6/1916. Served in the 7th East Yorkshire Regiment, “D” Company. Wounded on 12/11/1916 and invalided to England, Returned to France, on 26/05/1917. Wounded in the Right thigh. Died of wounds, at Glasgow, on 20/09/1918, aged 27. He is buried at Hull Western Cemetery.
