BORN HULL 1897. YOUNGEST SON OF ARTHUR BARNBY & ELIZABETH EMMA ATKINSON, OF 12 VICTOR STREET, HULL. HE LIVED WITH HIS UNCLE AT NEARBY 6 FLORAL GROVE, ARUNDLE STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED AT COVENTRY. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 07/08/1915. SERVED WITH THE 6TH OX & BUCKS REGIMENT. HAD BEEN ON ACTIVE SERVICE FOR 18 MONTHS BEFORE HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 03/09/1916, AGED 20. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS AUNTIE, ELIZABETH.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 16TH OCTOBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH.*
