Born Stockworth, Lincolnshire, 1890. Son of Henry and Alice Barratt, of 9, Sydney Terrace, Londesborough Street, Hull.

A Goods Porter for the North Eastern Railway. Described as 5 foot, 3 ” tall, 34-36 ” Chest.

Married at St Stephens Church, Hull on 0n 2nd Fed 1916. Husband of Ethel Mowforth, at 9, Kingston Terrace, Spring Street, Hull (Army address) and 40, Louis Street, Hull (War Pension address).

He enlisted at Hull, on 10th December 1915. Posted to France, on 5th July, 1916. Served as Private, 21733, 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 23/07/1916. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
