Born Stockworth, Lincolnshire, 1890. Son of Henry and Alice Barratt, of 9, Sydney Terrace, Londesborough Street, Hull.

Married at St Stephens Church, Hull, on 2nd Fed 1916. Husband of Ethel Mowforth, at 9, Kingston Terrace, Spring Street, Hull (Army address); 55, Caroline Place and 40, Louis Street, Hull (War Pension address).
He enlisted at Hull, on 10th December 1915. Posted to France, on 5th July, 1916. Served as Private, 21733, 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 23/07/1916, aged 26. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial,Somme, France.
