Born Gateshead, Durham, 26/06/1881. Son of Elizabeth Monkhouse Beresford (1862-1893.
Married, on 19 Nov • 1909. Husband of Elizabeth Jane Langley (1884-1956), of 74, Spring Street, Hull, 46, Blenheim Street, Hull and 274, Beverley Road, Hull (war Pension addresses). They had two sons, Gordon and Russell.
Served as Chief Engineer, Royal Naval Reserve, H.M. Whaler “Blackwhale”. Drowned when ship was sunk, on 03/01/1918, aged 36. He is commemorated on the Chatham Naval memorial, Kent.
