BORN HULL 1888. ELDEST SON OF FRANCIS BICKERS & MARY JANE HADDOCK, OF 30A SCULCOATES LANE, HULL. ONE OF NINE CHILDREN AND FIVE SONS SERVING IN THE WAR.

HE MARRIED IN 1912. WIFE LAVINIA REVELER LIVED AT 38 SCULCOATES LANE, HULL (PROBATE ADDRESS). HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A FISH FRYER IN SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, IN NOVEMBER 1915. SERVED WITH THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION ON 23/08/1918, AGED 30. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 25/10/1918.

HE LEFT £208 TO HIS WIDOW IN HIS WILL. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND YOUNG CHILD, AGED 2.
HIS BROTHERS PTE. WALTER BICKERS, (ASC) ALSO LIVED AT 30A. & PTE, GEORGE BICKERS, LIVED AT 70 SCULCOATES LANE, HULL. HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, GUNNER, ARTHUR BICKERS, EAST RIDING ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY, WAS KILLED ON 28/09/1918, AGED 21. IT WAS A TERRBLE LOSS FOR THEIR MOTHER WHO LOST HER TWO SONS WITHIN A MONTH.
