BORN HULL 1897. SON OF JOHN XERXES BISHOPBRIGG (1854-1910) & MARY ELIZABETH MEARNS (1856-1925), OF 83 GREAT THORNTON STREET, HULL. A COAL HOIST RAILWAY LABOURER. HE ALSO WORKED IN MUNITIONS, AS A SHELL TURNER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 03/03/1917, AGED 19 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS. HE MARRIED ON 15/071917. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 45397, IN THE YORKSHIRE REGIMENT DEPOT, AT RICHMOND, YORKSHIRE, AND AS 237890, 377TH LABOUR CORPS. HE WENT OVERSEAS, ON 01/06/1919. DIED OF PNEUMONIA, AT THE 36TH CASUALTY CLEARING STATION, GERMANY, ON 28/02/1920, AGED 23. HE HAD SERVED FOR 2 YEARS AND 362 DAYS.
HIS WAR PENSION WENT HIS WIFE, JESSIE BENSON, WHO LIVED AT THIS CWGC ADDRESS. SADLY THEIR DAUGHTER, EDNA, DIED OF INFLUENZA, ON 09/02/1919, AGED 3 MONTHS. HIS BROTHER JOHN AND SISTER EDITH BISHOPBRIGG ALSO DIED OF INFLUENZA IN HULL.
