BORN LONG RISTON, SCORBOROUGH, DRIFFILED, 1896. SON OF HENRY BLAKE (1867-1923) & MARY ELIZABETH BURTON, OF LEVEN, HULL. A FARM BOY IN SKIRLAUGH, YORKSHIRE. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 2415, RFA, 2ND BRIGADE. TRANSFERRED AS A GUNNER IN THE 144TH  ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 27/10/1918, AGED 22.

HE IS BURIED IN FRANCE. UNMARRIED. HE LEFT BROTHERS, GEORGE, THOMAS, ARTHUR AND WILLIAM, AND SISTER, LILY.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE ST CHARLES CHURCH BORROMEO, WAR MEMORIAL, JARRATT STREET, HULL.
