BORN HULL 1894. SON OF WILLIAM AND MARY BOARDMAN. LIVED 3 RAYMOND BUILDINGS, CUMBERLAND STREET – 1911 CENSUS. WORKED FOR THE CITY SAW MILL AS A MACHINE APPRENTICE. HE HAD ENLISTED IN HULL TO THE 4TH EYR BEFORE THE WAR ON 4/09/1911. SENT TO FRANCE ON 17/04/1915. KILLED IN ACTION TWO WEEKS LATER ON  04/05/1915. LEFT WIDOW & 2 CHILDREN. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, THOMAS BOARDMAN, 30749, 10TH SCOTTISH RIFLES, DIED, ON 17/03/1917, AGED 24, AND IS BURIED AT HULL’S HEDON ROAD CEMETERY.
