Bolton, Richard

Born Hull, 1890. Son of Annie e. Bolton, of 5, Albert Avenue, Vauxhall Grove, Hull. Son of a Fisherman. Second of four sons.

A professional Soldier with the Royal Berkshire regiment. Stationed at Fort Burgoyne, The Red Huts, Military Quarters At Castle Hill and Broadlees, Langdon Fort and The Military Prison and Governors Quarters, Guston, Dover (1911 census).

Enlisted in Hull. Served with the 5th Princess Charlotte of Wales’s (Royal Berkshire) Regiment. Killed in action, on 19/04/1916, aged 26.

His elder brother, George Bolton, served as private, 179453, Labour Corps and lived in Leeds.

His younger brothers, Henry and William James Bolton, served in the Royal Naval Reserve.
