BORN HULL 1892. SON OF FRANK BOOTH (1859-1931) AND MARY JANE BOOTH (1863-1895), AT 35, LOWER UNION STREET (1901 CENSUS) AND 28, FINSBURY GROVE, PROVIDENCE ROW, HULL. HE HAD THREE SISTERS AND TWO BROTHERS.

ERNEST MARRIED MARIA LYONS, AT HULL, IN 1911. THEY HAD TWO CHILDREN, LIVING AT 2, GEORGES PLACE, COACH AND HORSES YARD, MYTON GATE, HULL.

HE WORKED AS AN APPRENTICE BRASS FINISHER (1911 CENSUS) AND FOR SANER & HARRISON, SEED MERCHANTS, HIGH STREET, HULL .

HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE BATTALION, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, AT SERRE, ON 13/11/1916, AGED 24. HE WAS BURIED AT EUSTON ROAD CEMETERY, ON THE SOMME.

BY THE TIME HIS WAR PENSION WAS AWARDED ON 25.06/1917, HIS CHILDREN WERE MOTHERLESS. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO MRS ELIZABETH DRAPER AND MARIA LOUISA BROWN, GUARDIAN OF HIS TWO CHILDREN, AT 5 & 6 HUNTS TERRACE, WEST PARADE, SPRING BANK HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

IN 1919, HIS SON FRANK, BORN 05/10/1911, WENT TO ST VINCENT HOME FOR BOYS AND HIS DAUGHTER, MARY CECILIA, BORN 10/01/1914, WAS SENT TO A GIRLS SCHOOL. ERNEST WILLIAM BOOTH’S DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 27/07/1917. *
