Bradforth, John Bertram

Born Nottingham. Only on of George and Margaret Bradforth, of Nottingham; He had one sister, Helena may.

Married on 12th September 1910. Husband of Evelyn Bradforth, of 28, Marlborough Avenue, Hornsea, Yorkshire. They had one daughter Dorothy Margaret, born on 29th June 1911.

A railway Clerk, working in Hull. He served with the 1/5th East Yorkshire Territorials. Described as 5 foot, 7 inches tall, 36-38 inch chest, blue eyes, light brown hair, Church of England religion.

He enlisted in Hull on 5th July 1915, aged 30 years and 10 months. Posted to France, on 26th July 1916. Transferred to the 8th East Yorkshire regiment, “A” Company. Killed in action, on 09/04/1917, aged 32.

His army effects were left to his widow, Evelyn.

He had served for 1 year and 283 days.
