If you have more information on this casualty, please contact Jeff Jefferson [mailto:jeffjeff44@btinternet.com]. Jeff writes on the 12/4/2016, ” I am a volunteer with Preston Remembers (Lancs) and researching the names of Preston men on the Harris Museum Roll of Honour. Ernest Branton is on the list, as his wife Jane came from Lytham St. Annes, married 1908, and she must have requested his name be added. I am having difficulty pinning down his correct age as CWGC shows him age 33 in 1917, but all other records show him as 35 which seems be more correct i.e.. born 1882 to Thomas and Jane in Hull. Have you got any photos or army details in addition to CWGC as I am adding them to WW1, but have to be sure that I have the correct Ernest Branton.
