MARRIED ALICE ELIZABETH SCOTT, AT THE HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, HULL, 02/10/1908. HIS WIFE ALICE AND THREE CHILDREN LIVED AT 4 EXMOUTH SQUARE, HUMBER STREET AND THEN THIS ADDRESS. ENLISTED HULL, 15/11/1915. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 9 INCHES TALL, 34 INCH CHEST, 136 LBS, POOR TEETH, OF ‘FAIR’ PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. FIT FOR HOME SERVICE ONLY. TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY ON 31/05/1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, 15/07/1916. KILLED IN ACTION, 16/07/1918, AGED 34. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO HIS WIDOW ALICE AT THIS ADDRESS.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HDM 16/07/1919. BURIED IN BELGIUM. HIS GARVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “SLEEPING UNTIL THE RESURRECTION”
