HE MARRIED IN HULL ON 24/10/14. HIS WIFE ANNIE WALKER & SON GEORGE HENRY (BORN ON 17/01/1916), LIVED AT 1, BARNSLEY TERRACE, WOODHOUSE STREET, HULL, (CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 30/05/1915, AGED 25 YEARS AND 2 MONTHS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 1.5 INCHES TALL, 33 INCH CHEST, NORMAL VISION AND “VERY GOOD” PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 03/04/1916. HE JOINED THE 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, ON 14/09/1916. HE WAS KILLED AT THE SOMME, TWO DAYS LATER, ON 16/09/1916, AGED 26.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ANNIE BUNTING AND HER SON. SHE SAID IN HIS ARMY RECORDS, THAT SHE DID NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HER HUSBANDS RELATIVES.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS NAME WAS LISTED ON THE SPYVEE STREET ROLL OF HONOUR.
