Chambers, John Vincent

Born Hull 1884. Son of James Chambers (1854-1911) and Alice Beaumont (1857-1949), of 45, Field Street, Hull (1911 Census). The fifth of 13 Children.

He married Catherine Ann Giblin (1885-1942). at Hull in 1910. They had six children, three of which died in infancy. He worked as an Oil miller and  Dock Labourer, living at 12, David’s Terrace, Spyvee Street, Hull (War Pension and Army address). Described as 5 foot, 4.5 inches tall, 141 lbs weight, 37-39 inch chest, dark complexion, dark grey eyes, brown hair, Roman Catholic religion.

Enlisted at Hull, on 05/10/1914. Served as Private 12/890, 12th EYR in Egypt and France. Transferred to the Royal Army Service Corps. Discharged on 11/12/1918, after 4 years and 67 days service. Awarded the Silver War Badge. Died at Hull, in 1927, aged 42.
