Born Burton Pidsea. Enlisted Hull. Son of the late Henry and Rose Clough, of Aldbrough, Yorks. A professional Soldier. Served in the South African Campaign. Posted to France with the British Expeditionary Force. Killed in action, on 14/09/1917, aged 37. Buried, France.

He is commemorated on the Aldrough Village War Memorial
