BORN HULL 1890. ELDEST SON OF JOHN THOMAS FENTON (1858-1929) & FANNY TONG (1863-1950), OF 18 CLAREMONT TERRACE, DAY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD ONE BROTHER, JOHN THOMAS FENTON. EMPLOYED AS AN UPHOLSTERER.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 21ST APRIL 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, JOHN FENTON, 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS, WAS KILLED AT HELLES, ON 21/08/1915, AGED 22. HIS PARENTS HAD LOST THEIR ONLY SONS. THEIR NAMES ARE BOTH WAS RECORDED ON THE WAR MEMORIAL AT ST THOMAS CHURCH, CAMPBELL STREET, WHICH WAS DESTROYED IN AN AIR RAID DURING WW2.
