BORN HULL, 1897. SON OF HENRY AND MARY ANN FOSTER, OF 6, OPEN COURT, ADELAIDE STREET, HULL. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS. HIS SISTER, ALICE HOWARD, LIVED AT 15, BURTON STREET, GREAT PASSAGE STREET, HULL. ANOTHER SISTER, HANNAH, LIVED AT 18, NAPIER TERRACE, NORFOLK STREET, HULL. HE WORKED AS AN ERRAND BOY AND BUTCHER. A SINGLE MAN.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 28/10/1914. SERVED WITH THE 1/4TH EYR. POSTED TO THE MEDITTERANEAN, ON 21/09/1915. RETURNED TO ENGLAND 06/05/1918. DIED AT THE VAD HOSPITAL, HULL, ON 08/11/1918, AGED 22. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMYFOR 4 YEARS AND 12 DAYS. THE WAR WOULD END 3 DAYS LATER.

BURIED IN HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, ALICE HOWARD.
