Habershon, Leonard Osborne

Captain, Leonard Osborne Habershon, 12th EYR

Born St George Hanover Square, London, 1893. Third son of Doctor, Samuel Herbert Habershon (1857-1915) and Catherine Davies (1860-1930). Son of a Harley Street, Doctor. Educated at Winchester College, Southgate House, Winchester. Served as Temporary Captain, in the 12th East Yorkshire Battalion. Killed at Serre, on 13/11/1916, aged 23. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France. He left £5,937 in his will, to his widowed mother, Catherine at this probate address.

His elder brother, was Major, Cyril Bernard Habershon (1887-1953), 2nd South Wales Borders. His other brother, Captain, Kenneth Rees Habershon, 12th Battalion Rifle Brigade, killed in action on 12 February 1916, aged 26. Buried at Poperinge New Military Cemetery, Belgium.
