SERVED AS SUB LIEUTENANT (15/02/1916), TEMPORARY LIEUTENANT (15/06/1916) AND 1ST LIEUTENANT, IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, ON THE MINESWEEPER “BLACKMOREVALE”. KILLED BY MINE EXPLOSION, OFF MONTROSE, SCOTLAND, ON 01/05/1918, AGED 29. HE RESIDED AT NO 5 “THE HOLLIES”, SIDMOUTH STREET, HULL. (Royal Naval Reserve Officers Service Records 1862-1964)
