Hebb, John Dixon

Born Beverley, 1894. Son of Charles Thomas and Annie Adelaide Hebb, of Beverley; husband of Annie Hebb, of 1, Trinity Grove, Grove Hill Road, Beverley, Yorkshire (CWGC address). He was a Farm Horseman, working at New Farm, Watton Cranswick, Beverley.

He enlisted in Hull. Served with the Army Service Corps, Horse Transport. Attached to the 52nd Field Ambulance, Royal Army Medical Corps. He drowned accidentally, on 15/08/1918, aged 23. His army effects went to his widow, Annie and son, Squire, born on 3rd February 1915.

Buried in France. his grave, reads, SAFE IN LOVE’S KEEPING TAKEN TO AN EARLY REST CAUGHT INTO ETERNITY
