Humphrey, Herbert

Born Bridlington, 1892. Son of John and Rachel Humphrey, of The Albion Hotel, Bridlington, Yorkshire (CWGC address). Youngest of three sons.

He enlisted in Hull. Served as Sapper, in the 1st/1st (East Riding) Field Coy., Royal Engineers. Killed in action, on 02/03/1916, aged 24.

Buried at the Spoilbank Cemetery, Ypres, Belgium. His grave inscriptions, reads, TO LIVE IN THE HEARTS OF THOSE WE LOVE IS NOT TO DIE

His brother, Sidney Humphreys, was a plumber in Canada and served with the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
