Jennings, Joseph

Born Hull 1891. Son of Rose Spiers  and Joseph Jennings (1872-1923), of 5 Clairbrook Avenue, Eton Street, Hull. He had one younger brother, Edward. A single man. Worked as a Labourer.

He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 27th Durham Light Infantry. Died of Influenza, at Rosyth, on 29/10/1918, aged 26. His death is listed in Soldier’s Died Records, but not in CWGC records.

His war pension went to widow, Ada, of 1, Heberts Terrace, Massey Street, Hull (war pension address)

Note, His namesake, Trimmer, Joseph Jennings, RNR, HMS “Crescent”, also died on the same day of influenza,  29/10/1918, in Hull. He lived at 14 John’s Terrace, Walcott Street, Hull
