Jennings, Thomas Clifford Wilson (Tom)

Corporal, Thomas Jennings, 5th Yorkshire Regiment

Born Storwood, Yorkshire, England, 1895. Son of Thomas Jennings (1853-1885) and Jane Hannah Beal (1860-1935), of Manor House, Storwood, Melbourne, Yorkshire. He had one brother and six sisters. Worked as an Ironmongers Apprentice, at 49 Chapmangate Pocklington.

He enlisted at Pocklington. Served as a Corporal, with the 5th Yorkshire Hussars (Alexandra, Princes of Wales’ Own). Died of wounds, on 08/06/1916, aged 21. Buried in France. His grave inscription, reads “GOD IS LOVE”.
