Keller, Harold

Withernsea WW1 Memorial, Queens Street. The memorial was erected in 1923 at a cost of £451, the funds for which were collected through public subscription. A service of dedication was held in 1924. Inscribed in four columns, are the names of sixty-four men killed in World War I.

BORN HULL 1893. THIRD SON OF LOUIS & MARY JANE KELLER ABOVE. ONE OF FOUR SONS AND SISTER ANNIE. AN APPRENTICE GROCER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 07/09/1914.. SERVED WITH THE 2/1ST EAST RIDING YEOMANRY. DIED AT WITHERNSEA, ON 28/11/1915, AGED 23.

UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO HIS MOTHER MARY JANE, AND SISTER IN LAW KATHLEEN ADA TETHER.
HIS OLDER BROTHER, ARTHUR JACKSON KELLER, KRRC, WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON 27/09/1918, AGED 33.
